Calvert School - Since 1897

Welcome from the Head Master

 Andy

Welcome to the Calvert School website! Whether you are a first time visitor or a frequent user, I hope you will find our site, which has been recently redesigned, to be both helpful and informative.

As a Calvert graduate, I can attest to the life-long impact of the rigorous Calvert curriculum. On a daily basis, I use the skills developed in my school years at Calvert. Since its founding in 1897, the School has emphasized the fundamentals of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Each year, dedicated faculty members guide their eager pupils through the time-tested curriculum while also instilling a love of learning and a keen awareness for the rich culture of the global community. It is important to note that almost all of the texts and materials used by students were designed and honed right here on Tuscany Road.

Although Calvert is committed to honoring the wonderful traditions of its past, the School strives to stay on the leading edge of innovation. Our beautiful new Middle School provides state-of-the-art facilities, including a black box theater, spacious science labs, dance and music studios, and a wireless network that supports laptop usage for all 5th through 8th graders. Moreover, Calvert students enjoy the use of a planetarium in our recently renovated Lower School as well as multiple playing fields and gymnasiums.

The powerful combination of skillful, committed faculty, a proven, demanding curriculum, a competitive athletics program, and excellent facilities provides an environment in which we foster student success, achievement, and self-esteem.  Calvert prepares its graduates to succeed at the most competitive secondary schools in the area and to embrace the challenges awaiting them with confidence, a strong academic foundation, and a growing sense of independence and curiosity.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions about our programs, and I encourage you to stop by campus for a tour to learn more about Calvert, our students, and our community.  We would enjoy welcoming you to our School.

Sincerely yours,
