How ATS WorksATS Letter

  • After enrolling in ATS, access to the enhanced online features will be added to your child’s My Calvert portal.
  • You complete a survey that introduces your child to his or her Advisory Teacher.
  • When we receive your first group of tests, your child is assigned an Advisory Teacher, who stays with him or her throughout the course.
  • Every 20 lessons—8 times each year— your child mails the subject tests included in the course to the Advisory Teacher.
  • When the portfolio of tests arrives at Calvert, you receive an e-mail confirming receipt.
  • Your Advisory Teacher grades your student’s work and sends it back to you
along with a personal letter to your child. In Kindergarten, the Advisory Teacher also sends a letter to you, the Home Teacher, offering advice and encouragement.
  • Your child’s online grade book will beupdated after the graded tests and letter arrive in your home.
  • Typically, families complete the ATS program within one year. While ATS helps reinforce maintaining a good pace, families may always request a time extension when necessary.
  • After successfully completing all required tests, your child receives our Certificate of Completion, which provides documentation of scholastic achievement in an accredited program. Transcripts are provided upon request.

ATS Placement

To enroll in ATS in Grades 4–8, a student must complete a placement test  prior to enrollment, and enroll in the grade we recommend. A Placement Counselor is available to discuss test results with you.
