A Letter From the President |
|
August 3, 2009
Dear Calvert Parents,
As the school year approaches, I wanted to take the time to introduce myself as the new President of the Calvert School Parents' Association (CSPA). The CSPA is not only a fundraising group, but exists to support the administration, faculty, and staff; and to be a liaison between the School and the parents. The CSPA was created to enhance volunteer opportunities, oversee events, and promote school spirit.
Last year, the CSPA enjoyed many successes, including Sip & Swing (the annual parent social), Grandparents' Day, Used Uniform Sales, Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day, and Calvert Day. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of our parents, we were able to donate $5,000 to the Annual Fund at the end of the year.
Enclosed in this mailing you will find our updated parent volunteer brochure which outlines the purpose, philosophy, and goals of the CSPA, and details the many volunteer opportunities available to you this year. Your involvement not only helps make Calvert the wonderful place it is, but gives you a chance to meet other parents and members of the faculty and staff. Volunteers are needed for regularly scheduled jobs in the library and at athletic activities, as well as special events such as Calvert Day and Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day. Please take some time to read over the volunteer form, fill it out and send it back to us. If you have any questions about the various jobs, feel free to call me or Stephanie Coldren, Administrative Liaison to the CSPA. You may mail in your form or drop it off at front desk of either the Lower School or Middle School.
Please be sure to check on the CSPA page of the Calvert website for updates on upcoming events and activities at the School. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call me or anyone on the Parents' Association Executive Committee.
