Middle School Uniform Guidelines

Girls: Required Items

• Navy blue plaid skort or jumper
  
• Long or short sleeved polo shirt (white or yellow) and/or
  
• Turtleneck (white or yellow)
  
• White socks (crew, ankle, or golf)
  
• White, gray, navy, or black tennis shoes (high-tops not permitted)
  

Optional items* - substitutes not permitted

• Navy blue long pants with Calvert or plain dark belt
  
• Yellow crew sweater (over uniform shirt)
  
• Navy fleece vest (over uniform shirt)
  
• White Calvert sweatshirt (over uniform shirt)
  
• Navy blue spandex leggings (purchased at the school store) may be worn after Thanksgiving, before Spring Break.
  
• Calvert Spirit Wear Sweatshirt in any color (over uniform shirt)
  

The following items are not acceptable for girls:

• Dangling earrings and earrings larger than the earlobe (studs are permitted but must be removed for athletics)
  
• Cosmetics (clear nail polish acceptable)
  
• Skorts and shorts that are too short (must come to mid-thigh or lower)
  
  

Boys: Required Items

• Khaki long pants with Calvert belt or plain dark belt
  
• Long or short sleeved polo shirts (white, navy, or yellow)
  
• Turtle neck shirt (white, yellow, or navy)
  
• White socks (crew, ankle, or golf)
  
• White, gray, navy. or black tennis shoes (high-tops not permitted)

• Navy crew sweater (over uniform shirt)
  
• Navy fleece vest (over uniform shirt)
  
• White Calvert sweatshirt (over uniform shirt)
  
• Calvert Spirit Wear Sweatshirt in any color (over uniform shirt)

The following items are not acceptable for boys:

• Earrings or necklaces of any kind
  
  
  

The following standards will be enforced for all middle school students:

• Body piercing (except for girls single-hole ear piercing) or visible tattoos are not permitted.
  
• Colored, bleached, or streaked hair is not permitted (as determined by the administration).
• Extreme hairstyles are not permitted (as determined by the administration).
  
• Underclothing may not be visible under school uniforms or physical education dress.
• Uniform shirts must be tucked in at all times.
   
• Logos of any kind are not peritted on shirts.
  
• Hats may not be worn in school buildings
  
• Rain/snow boots may not be worn in class

* Optional parts of the uniform. If students wish to wear any of the optional items, they must be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara or the Calvert Store. Other sweaters, vests, sweatshirts, etc. may not to be worn in the building.
