Lower School Uniform Guildelines

Girls: Required Items

• Navy blue plaid jumper worn with Calvert navy blue gym shorts
• Long or short sleeved polo shirt (white or yellow) and/or
• Turtleneck (white or yellow)
• White 6 inch crew socks or navy blue tights or leggings (if not footed, socks required)
• White/light grey (mostly) tie or Velcro tennis shoes
  

Optional items* - substitutes not permitted

• Navy blue shorts with Calvert belt (before Thanksgiving, after Spring Break)
• Navy blue pants with Calvert belt
• Yellow or blue cardigan sweater (over uniform shirt)
• Navy fleece vest (over uniform shirt)
• White Calvert sweatshirt

The following items are unacceptable for girls:

• Dangling earrings and earrings larger than the earlobe (studs are permitted but must be removed before athletics)
• Tennis or golf socks
• Cosmetics, including nail polish

Boys: Required Items

• Khaki long pants with Calvert belt
• Long or short sleeved polo shirts (white, navy, or yellow) and/or
• Turtle neck shirt (white, navy, or yellow)
• White 6-inch crew socks
• White/ light grey (mostly) tie or Velcro tennis shoes
  

Optional items* - substitutes not permitted

• Khaki shorts with Calvert belt (before Thanksgiving, after Spring Break)
• Navy crew sweater (over uniform shirt)
• Navy fleece vest (over uniform shirt)
• White Calvert sweatshirt

The following items are unacceptable for boys:

• Hair below the collar or worn in a pony tail
• Tennis or golf socks
• Earrings

The following standards will be enforced for all students:

• Hats may not be worn indoors
• Tennis shoes must have shoestrings or Velcro closures (no zippers)
• No body piercing or visible tattoos
• Underclothing may not be visible under school uniforms or physical education dress.
  
• Shirts MUST be tucked in at all times
• Logos of any kind are not permitted on shirts.
  
• Rain/snow boots may not be worn in class.
  
• All socks must be 6-inch crew socks, not tennis or golf socks
  
• Flip-flop, clogs, or sandals are not permitted
  
• Dyed, colored, bleached, or streaked hair is not permitted
• Extreme hairstyles are not persmitted (as judged by the administration).

* Optional parts of the uniform. If students wish to wear any of the optional items, they must be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara. or the Calvert Store. Other sweaters, vests, sweatshirts, etc. may not to be worn in the building.
