Calvert School - Since 1897

Emergency Phone Blast System

The phone blast system is intended only for notification of emergency announcements as deemed appropriate by the administration.  It is not intended to be used for school delays or closings unless we are unable to access our website to post an announcement. The normal school communication guidelines remain in effect and should be observed.

The system has the capability of calling your home, cell, and business numbers as listed in the database/online directory. A phone blast used in early morning (prior to 7:00 a.m.) would, in most cases, be directed only to your listed home phone number. A phone blast used at other times would be directed to your listed home number, as well as to your listed cell phone number. In cases where we do not have a cell phone number listed with the School, the call would instead be directed to your listed business phone number. Please be sure to keep your contact information updated in the online directory.

  • You will see the number 411-411-4111 on your caller ID. Please take moment to familiarize yourself with this number so that you will recognize it as a Calvert School call. (A name will not show up on your caller ID.)

  • After picking up your phone you need to say hello to activate the system.

  • There may be a 3 - 5 second delay before the message begins. (Do not hang up!)

  • If you do not answer your phone, your voice mail/answering machine message will activate the system. (The message will not begin until your voice mail/answering machine recording has ended.)

  • There may be several pauses in the message depending upon its length. Again, please do not hang up until you are sure the message is completed.
