Seventh Grade

Seventh Grade students will continue to build strong grammar and composition skills through descriptive writing. They also will discover the development of the modern world through history courses covering the fall of Rome to the Enlightenment. The spelling program further incorporates grammar.

Seventh Grade Calvert Math emphasizes problem-solving steps. Your students will begin learning advanced concepts such as variables, formulas, fractions, and
statistics in our pre-algebra course.

The science program will delve deeper into the life and physical sciences and introduce your students to the characteristics of living things, sound, light, motion, forces, and energy. They will learn about networks, Web researching and validation, desktop publishing, and databases in our comprehensive technology program.

In addition to continuing courses in reading and poetry, your students will
study geographic subjects such as thematic maps and the Eastern hemisphere.
The art history course continues with the third volume of A Child’s History of Art:
Architecture, and your students will apply these lessons by designing their own
structures in the art unit.
