Using either our placement test or primary assessment ensures proper placement in our academically challenging program, which is crucial to the success of the child and the Home Teacher. You must submit a placement test to enroll in the Advisory Teaching Service in Grades 4-8. The General Placement Test is designed for students in Grades 4-8. Once your child completes the test, send it by mail to Calvert for a free evaluation.

For students who may be ready for Pre-K through Grade 3, we recommend our Primary Assessment, which allows parents to self-test the child’s readiness for each grade level. To help with math placement in these lower grades, your child can complete the Primary Math Assessment. You may mail the Primary Math Assessment to Calvert for a free math placement evaluation.

All of these tests are available by mail or for download from the Placement Testing section of the Calvert School web site.

To have tests mailed, please call 888-487-4652 or 410-785-3400, or send an e-mail to inquiry@calvertservices.org. Please include a mailing address and your child’s current grade when submitting a request for placement tests. Student placement evaluations can take up to seven business days from the time we receive a test; therefore, it is best to have a child complete the test several weeks prior to when you intend to start homeschooling.

Our Education Counselors are always available to discuss proper placement by phone or email..
