Calvert School - Since 1897

Tuition Schedule

Tuition at Calvert School includes books/workbooks, most required supplies, field trips, snacks, and lunch for all students in 6th Age through 8th grade. Parents are not billed for these associated educational costs. This "bundled" approach provides families with a tuition that is truly reflective of the school year costs, allowing for more specific financial planning and offering significant savings on those expenses not always covered by tuition schedules.

Tuition is payable in three installments. The first payment of 10% of the tuition, a non-refundable registration fee, is due at the time of enrollment and is credited towards tuition. The second payment, 50% of the annual tuition, is payable before July 15th. The third payment of 40% of the annual tuition is payable by December 15th.

A monthly payment plan is also available for a modest fee. Calvert School offers the option to make tuition payments on a monthly basis through the TuitionPay Monthly Plan from Academic Management Services (AMS). This plan is an interest-free alternative to the installment plan mentioned above. Please visit http://www.tuitionpay.com/ to learn more.

  • No child may attend After School Care until all medical forms are completed and returned to the school.
  • The After School Care program operates on all days when school is in session. Only students who are currently enrolled at Calvert are eligible for the program.
  • After School Care operates from dismissal time (12:15 or 3:15) until 3:15, 4:45, 5:30, or 6:00 depending on the option elected. Fees are payable at regular tuition times. (See Financial Information section for list of options and rates.) Enrollment may be selected for the entire year or half-year. No drop-ins are allowed, with the exception of participation in the Periodic After School Care (see page 38 for specific details).
  • Pilot Class students enrolled in After School Care must bring their lunch every day. Milk and snacks are provided.
  • Qualified day care personnel (at a maximum student-teacher ratio of 13:1) supervise the students' activities, including non-academic projects, enrichment, study hall, supervised play, and snack.
  • Children should be picked up promptly and in person. We insist on this procedure because it is critically important for our caregivers to know to whom they are releasing a child. We also believe there are advantages to the personal contact between parents and Calvert staff. A note identifying a non-designated pick-up driver is required. Late pick-ups will incur a $20.00 charge for every 15 minutes or portion thereof. After the second time a child is picked up more than 15 minutes late, he or she may be asked to leave After School Care for the rest of the semester. Supervisors and personnel cannot leave until children are picked up, and lateness is a serious inconvenience.
  • Children should be picked up as soon as possible whenever school is closed due to weather conditions. After School Care will be closed for holidays and vacations, and whenever the School is closed for emergencies.

  • Purpose

The schedule and structure of the extended school program at Calvert has been developed to best meet the needs of busy middle school families and to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.

  • Schedule

The following schedule will apply to all Middle School students beginning on the first day of classes

 (September 2nd, 2008).

  • Structure

Students are dismissed from the last period at 3:10 P.M. each afternoon and should either report to athletic practice, to a non-athletic activity, to the carpool circle, or to the Atrium for the After School Study Period if they are staying after school.  Students must sign-in with the extended school program staff member in the designated classroom by 3:20 P.M. and will need a pass to use the library, watch a sporting event, or meet with a teacher.  Students staying after school later than 4:15 P.M. will be supervised by the Extended School Supervisor in the gym for a fee (described in the table above).  Families will be billed at the end of the month only for the days a child remained after school past 4:15 P.M.

Students staying after 3:15 P.M., but not participating in after school sports or other designated activities, will be required to enroll in the After School Study period from 3:15 to 4:15 P.M. During this time, students will be supervised by an extended school program staff member and will be allowed to finish homework and work on other assignments. This period is a privilege for students, not a right. Any inappropriate behavior during this time frame, as determined by the Calvert School administration, may result in the loss of choice to partake in this portion of the extended school program.

Please note that when School closes at 12:15 P.M., the Extended School Program is not available.

  • 1st Carpool Pick-Up Time (3:15-3:30 P.M.)

Those students not staying after school should be picked up in the middle school carpool circle from 3:15-3:30.  Middle School students who have not been picked up by 3:30 P.M. will report to the Atrium and await pick up.

  • 2nd Carpool Pick-Up (4:15-4:30 P.M.)

Those students participating in after school sports, non-athletic activities, or in the After School Study Period should gather their things and be ready outside in the carpool circle for pick up from 4:15-4:30 P.M.  Students who have not been picked up by 4:30 P.M. will be required to report to the Atrium and will sign in with the supervisor of the Extended School Program.  Parents should note that this program involves a fee.

Late pick-ups from the Extended School Program (after 6:00 P.M.) will incur a $20.00 charge for every 15 minutes or portion thereof. Please be sure your child is picked up by 6:00 P.M. Supervisors and personnel cannot leave until children are picked up, and lateness is a serious inconvenience.

Students attending the Extended School Program should be picked up as soon as possible whenever school is closed due to weather conditions or other emergencies. We insist on this accommodation for the safety of you and your child, as well as that of our staff.
