 Why study Latin?
In addition to its historical importance, Latin is a parent language of many tongues used in the world today, including English. This ancient language is the grammatical foundation for modern English, and understanding Latin will help improve your child’s writing.
Through Calvert’s Latin Ia course, your child will explore Roman culture and history, learn to read and translate materials written in Latin, develop comprehension of spoken Latin, and practice oral and written Latin communication. Learning Latin prefixes, suffixes, and root words will increase your child’s English vocabulary. Required Latin Ia audio materials are included on three audio CDs.
