The Verticy Learning Academy Program

For over 100 years, Calvert School has educated over 500,000 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade through its home school and distance learning programs. In our continuous effort to integrate innovation with the Calvert tradition, Calvert’s new program is designed for students with average or above average intelligence that experience difficulty reading, spelling, or writing, but may not achieve the same academic level as their peers. In order to best address the learning needs that correspond to these learning differences, we have partnered with the Jemicy School in Baltimore, Maryland, renowned for educating children with LLDs in Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade for over thirty-five years. Jemicy’s curriculum has been composed from the leading multi-sensory learning methodologies including Orton-Gillingham and Wilson Learning and refined in the classroom by their faculty of certified learning specialists.

In order to serve home school families across the globe, Jemicy School and Calvert School have created Verticy Learning Academy, the first comprehensive home school curriculum that addresses the needs of children with LLDs.
